Diode Testing: To ensure a proper functioning diode, the meter will develop a voltage across the component from a test current. The diode test function allows measurements of forward and reverse bias across diodes and transistor junctions. Turn off power to the device or circuit that is being tested and discharge all capacitors. Plug the leads into the meter inputs as indicated in the above diagram. Select the diode function on the meter.

Attach the three test leads to each of the 3-Phase cables in any order. If all three supply lines have power, the meter will indicate a R, S, T (in the upper left corner).
