The cooktop can be protected against being accidentally turned on to ensure that children do not switch on the elements.
Switching the temporary childproof lock on and off
To switch on
You can lock the hob on just one occasion, for example if you have young children visiting you. Press and hold the # symbol for more than 4 seconds; the hotplate indicators go out and the H indicator lights up. The childproof lock may be accidentally switched on and off if: water is spilt when cleaning, food is spilt or objects are resting on the # symbol.
