Notes on the control and power supply leads REM OUT lead (blue/white striped) supplies +12 V DC when you turn ˎˎ on the unit. If ˎˎ your car has built-in FM/AM antenna (aerial) in the rear/side glass, connect REM OUT lead (blue/white striped) or the accessory power supply lead (red) to the power terminal of the existing antenna (aerial) booster. A ˎˎ power antenna (aerial) without a relay box cannot be used with this unit. Memory hold connection When the yellow power supply lead is connected, power will always be supplied to the memory circuit even when the ignition switch is turned off. Notes on speaker connection Before connecting the speakers, turn the unit off. ˎˎ Use speakers with an impedance of 4 to 8 ohms, and with ˎˎ adequate power handling capacities to avoid damage. Do ˎˎ not connect the speaker terminals to the car chassis, or connect the terminals of the right speakers with those of the left speakers. Do ˎˎ not connect the ground (earth) lead of this unit to the negative (–) terminal of a speaker. Connecting active speakers (with ˎˎ built-in amplifiers) to the speaker terminals may damage the unit. To ˎˎ avoid a malfunction, do not use the built-in speaker leads installed in your car if they feature a common negative (–) lead for the right and left speakers. Notes on connection If ˎˎ [Check Audio Output Wiring] appears in the display, make sure the speaker and amplifier are connected correctly. To ˎˎ use the monitor for the rear seats, connect the parking brake switch cord to the ground (earth).

Secure the connection between the HDMI/MHL connection cable and main unit, using the hook and loop fastener .
1 Wrap the hook and loop fastener around the
neck of a cable.
2 Pull the hook and loop fastener firmly back
around the neck of the other cable.
3 Bring the ends of the hook and loop fastener
together to secure the connection of the cables.

Precautions
Choose the installation location carefully so that the ˎˎ unit will not interfere with normal driving operations. Avoid installing the unit in areas subject to dust, dirt, ˎˎ excessive vibration, or high temperature, such as in direct sunlight or near heater ducts. Adjusting the frames (XAV-742/712BT only)
You can adjust the projecting part of the unit when the unit is mounted.
1 Remove the screws from both sides of the
unit.
2 Choose a screw hole from , or on each
frame .
If you secure the frames with the screw holes (default position), it will maximize the projecting part of the unit. On the other hand, screw holes will minimize the projecting part.
3 Reattach the frames with the selected screw
holes with the removed screws .
