2. 2. 2 Installing the driver
Installation
Note If you have previously installed the KONICA MINOLTA 130f driver, you can update by simply clicking a [Update] button on the maintenance screen.
1 Turn on your computer. 2 Insert the supplied CD into your CD-ROM drive.
The driver installation window will appear automatically. If not appear, run the "setup. exe" located on the root directory of the supplied CD-ROM.
3 Choose your language, then click [Next].
The Software License Agreement appears.
4 After reading and accepting the License Agreement click [Yes].
The communication type screen appears.
5 Select the "Parallel" and click [Next]. 6 Follow the instructions that appear on your screen until you can click
[Finish]. The KONICA MINOLTA 130f printer and scanner drivers have been installed.

If your machine has an optional second cassette installed, you must enter the driver and activate it. To activate the optional device:
1 Click [Start] % [Settings] % [Printer]. 2 Right click the "KONICA MINOLTA 130f PCL6 (or PCL5e)" icon, then
click [Properties] (Windows 98/Me), or [Printing Preference] (Windows 2000/XP).
3 Click [Device Option] tab. 5 Click [OK], then close the printer.

Making connection
Note Use an Ethernet® cable with two twisted wire pairs and an RJ45 plug.
1 Turn off the machine. 2 Connect your Ethernet cable to the network port of your machine, and
the other end of the cable to the network port.
3 Turn on the machine.
2. 3. 2 The IP Address
An IP address is required to install the network printer drivers. You need to obtain the IP address from your network administrator and enter it by following procedures.
1 Press [Menu], [6], [1], [1], [Enter]. 6 To effect the IP address setting, turn the machine off and then back on.

Installing the drivers
Note For Windows® 2000, Windows® XP and Windows NT® 4. 0, you must be logged in as the Administrator.
Note If you have previously installed the KONICA MINOLTA 130f driver, you can update by simply clicking a [Update] button on the maintenance screen.

2 Choose your language, then click [Next].

The connection type screen appears.
4 Select the "Network" and click [Next].
The install components screen appears.
5 Select the component you want to install, then click [Next].
The IP address screen appears.
6 Enter the IP address. 7 Follow the instructions appears on the screen to complete the
installation. Configuring the printer port Just after the printer driver has been installed to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4. 0, its print port is still set for "FILE". You should change the printer port (see "Configuring the printer port" on page 2-21). This is not necessary for Windows 9x/Me.

Activating the optional second paper cassette

If your machine has an optional second cassette installed, you must enter the driver and activate it.

Configuring the printer port
For Windows 2000/XP user
1 Open the printer screen.

In case of Windows XP Professional, click [Start] % [Printers and Faxes]. In case of Windows XP Home Edition, click [Start] % [Control Panel, Printers and other Hardware] % [Printers and Faxes]. In case of Windows 2000, click [Start] % [Settings] % [Printer].
2 Right click on the "KONICA MINOLTA 130f printer" icon and select
[Properties] from pop-up menu.
3 Click [Ports] tab and then click [Add Port].
The Printer port screen is displayed.
4 Select [Standard TCP/IP Port] and click [New Port]. 5 When "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard" is shown, click
[Next].
6 Enter IP address assigned to your machine in "Printer name or IP
address" and click [Next].
7 If "Additional Port Information Required" dialog box appears, click
[Standard] in "Device Type" and select "Generic Network Card" before clicking [Next].
8 Click [Finish]. 10 Confirm that the added port is selected for your machine, then click
[OK] or [Close].

For Windows NT 4. 0 user
Installation
"Microsoft TCP/IP Printing service" should be installed in your PC to print to TCP/IP-connected printer. [. . . ] Download as Bitmap All the font data in the document will be transferred to the printer as bitmap data. Select this mode if letters are not printed properly as the computer screen. Note that the printing speed may decrease in this mode than in "Automatic" or "Download as Outline" mode. When you set zoom in or out, always select "Automatic" or "Download as Outline" as True Type Mode. [. . . ]
