[. . . ] This removes any residues from the drum which may have been left during manufacture. 14 Preparing the washing cycle Sorting out and preparing washing · Sort out washing according to the type and care symbol (see "Types of washing and care symbols"). · To prevent washing from getting damaged and forming bundles: close zips, button up duvet covers and pillow cases, tie up loose straps such as on aprons. · For knitted coloured fabrics as well as woollens and fabrics with appliqué: turn inside out. · Put small and delicate items (baby socks, tights) in a washing net or a pillow case with a zip. · Keep coloureds and whites separately in different washing cycles. · When washing fabrics requiring different wash temperatures always select the lowest temperature. This improves the effectiveness of the wash and the washing is distributed better when spinning. · Unfold the washing before putting it into the drum. 15 Preparing the washing cycle Types of washing and care symbols The care symbols assist in selecting the correct washing program. The temperature specifications in the care symbols are always maximum specifications. Cottons I Fabrics made of cotton and linen with this care symbol will withstand maximum wash actions and high temperatures. Linens G C Fabrics made of cotton and linen with this care symbol will withstand maximum wash actions and are colourfast at 40°C or 60°C. 0 Push the detergent drawer in completely. 19 Run wash cycle Selecting the washing program 3 Suitable program and correct temperature for the respective type of washing, see "Program Tables. " Set the washing program Important!0 Set the program selector to the desired washing program Set the temperature 0 Set the temperature selector to the desired temperature. For easy-cares washing: 0 Press the EASY-CARES button. 3 The EASY-CARES button can only be used with the COTTONS/LINEN and SOAKING programs. If used with any other program it will have no effect. If RINSE HOLD is selected, the washing is not rinsed in the last rinsing water, it will not be spun. During the washing program you can at any time ­ alter the setting of the final spin speed, ­ select RINSE HOLD, ­ alter the temperature setting; ­ press the EASY-CARES button Other settings cannot be altered. To interrupt the washing program prematurely: 0 Push in program selector. 0 Pull out program selector. End of wash cycle/removing the washing The washing program normally ends with the final spin. After PRE WASH/SOAKING: · PRE WASH 3 After PRE WASH, the main wash cycle must be set as desired, the program does not continue automatically. 0 Set the main wash cycle desired. 21 Run wash cycle · SOAKING After soaking separately, the water must be pumped out first and then the main wash cycle can be set as desired: 0 Release the SOAKING button, or rotate the program selector clockwise to PUMP OUT (water is pumped out). 0 Subsequently set the main wash cycle as desired. 3 After Rinse Hold: After a Rinse Hold the water must be pumped out first or the washing spun: 0 Release RINSE HOLD button. 0 Rotate the program selector clockwise to SPIN or SHORT SPIN (washing becomes spun according to the program group selected and the final spin speed set), or rotate program selector clockwise to PUMP OUT (water is pumped out).
