[. . . ] S 75388 KG Kühl-/Gefrierkombination Refrigerator freezer combination Gebrauchsanweisung Instruction book B/AE/10. (06. ) 200370729 PERFEKT IN FORM UND FUNKTION Dear customer, Before switching on your new appliance please read these operating instructions carefully. They contain important information for safe use, for installation and for care of the appliance. These operating instructions are for use with several technically comparable models with varying accessories. [. . . ] If we press the alarm reset button (L) we stop the warning light and at the same time the indicator show for about 5 seconds the warmest temperature reached in the compartment. 52 Turning OFF the freezer compartment To turn off the freezer press the button (I) several times until the symbol "OF" appears in the temperature indicator (J). The temperature indicator switches off. Switching the Appliance off To switch off, hold down the (A) button. Remove the mains plug or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse. Defrost the freezer compartment and clean the appliance thoroughly (see section: "Cleaning and Maintenance"). Finally, leave the doors open so as to avoid a build up of odours. Freezing and storing frozen food You can use your freezer for freezing fresh food yourself. The temperature in the freezer compartment must be -18 °C or colder before freezing food. The freezing capacity is the maximum quantity of fresh food that can be frozen within a period of 24 hours. If you wish to freeze food several days in a row, please observe a maximum capacity of only 2/3 to 3/4 of that on the rating plate. The quality of the food is best preserved when it is frozen right through to the core as quickly as possible. The warmth will cause increased ice formation and increase the power consumption. Thawed foods which have not been processed further (cooked into meals) may not under any circumstances be frozen a second time. Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures. Do not store any containers with flammable materials such as, for example, spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refrigerator/freezer. They can burst when the contents freeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode!53 All foods must be packed air tight prior to freezing, so that they do not dry out or lose their flavour, and so that no flavour contamination of other frozen goods occurs. To achieve faster freezing of food or to freeze the maximum allowed quantity, depress the ambient switch 12 hours before loading the food without modifying the thermostat setting. Not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely necessary. Storing in the freezer It is practical to replace frozen products into the basket(s) after freezing has finished. Doing this you could make room in the freezing compartment for another freezing. In large quantities of food are to be stored, remove the baskets except the lowermost one from appliance and place food on the cooling surface. Do not forget to keep to the storage time given on the packaging of frozen products if you buy them frozen. To store home-frozen products see the storing instructions placed in the door of the freezer. Symbols signify the various foods, numbers mean maximum storing time given in months. [. . . ] Connected damage caused by these removal and replacement operations will be the responsibility of the user. If, during the guarantee period, repairing the same defect repeatedly is not conclusive, or if the repair costs are considered disproportionate, in agreement with the consumer, the defective appliance may be replaced with another appliance of the same value. In this event, we reserve the right to ask for a financial contribution calculated according to the length of time it has been used. A repair under guarantee does not mean that the normal guarantee period will be extended nor that a new guarantee period begins. [. . . ]
