Due to the high power output of the MRD-M1005/ MRD-M300, considerable heat is produced when the amplifier is in operation. For this reason, the amplifier should be mounted in a location which will allow for free circulation of air, such as inside the trunk. Make sure there are no objects behind the surface that may become damaged during drilling. Position the MRD-M1005/MRD-M300 over the screw holes, and secure with four self-tapping screws. NOTE: To securely connect the ground lead, use an already installed screw on the metal part of the vehicle (marked (#)). Be sure this is a good ground by checking continuity to the battery () terminal. Before making connections, be sure to turn the power off to all audio components. Connect the yellow battery lead from the amp directly to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery. Locate the unit and route the leads at least 10 cm away from the car harness. After adjusting, it is necessary to reattach the top cover to its former position. To remove the top cover 1) Using the hexagonal wrench (M3), remove the two hexagonal screws holding top cover in place. To attach the top cover 1) Line up the two raised projections on the top cover with the depressions on the main body. 2) Gently lower the top cover 3) Attach the top cover with the two hexagonal screws * Tighten the screws securely so that they do not come loose due to vibrations while the vehicle is moving. When finished, close the top cover and secure with the original hexagon screws. 8 Crossover Frequency Adjustment Knob Permits adjustment of the crossover frequency, by rotating the knob to select any frequency between 30 to 200 Hz as the crossover point. 9 Lowpass Filter Slope Selector Switch The Lowpass Filter slope can be set for either 12dB/oct. 10 Subsonic Mode Selector Switch a) Set this switch to "OFF" when you want to hear tones not possible when the Subsonic filter switch is used. B) Set to "15 Hz" when connected to subwoofers such as 10 inch (25 cm) bass speakers, if the sound seems less distorted at that setting. C) Set to "30 Hz" when connected to ordinary speakers (not subwoofers) for instance a mid bass speaker of 8 inches (20 cm) or more if the sound seems less distorted at that setting. # Remove the two hexagon screws and open the top cover to operate the controls. [. . . ] Input level from the head unit with which the amplifier is being used is low. The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range.
