The unit is connected to electrical voltage (230V and power supply from the telephone network). Do not use the unit or telephones connected to it, if the connection or installation cables are damaged. [. . . ] For any changes of these programmed values, please contact your operator or an authorized person (or refer to the operation manual). Note: At an analog terminal the park or unpark procedure is started with a calibrated flash (RR). As this flash is within the rotary-dial specification, it is not possible to decode a timed break and rotary-dial-pulses at the same time. This means that if the TP feature should be used, it is not possible to dial from a rotarydial terminal. Note: The service MCID is used in special situations and normally only for a certain time period. Normally you have to subscribe to this service and certain settings need to be made in the network and in the NT+2ab Mark II. To keep the usage of this service as easy as possible (and to allow, that the caller is not informed about the registration) all other services which are using the RR are barred for this time. For more information, please contact your network operator. 3. 1 3. 1. 1 General information Abbreviations Abbreviation <Hook-off> <Hook-on> RR *, # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 (Telephone-Nr) (Answer) Name Take the handset of the telephone off-hook Put the handset of the telephone onhook Hook Flash (Register Recall) Special keys on a DTMF telephone Number-Keys on the telephone Telephone number of the subscriber that should be called The called party answers your call Explanation / Remark e. g. to finish a call Sometimes called and marked: FLASH, "R", RECALL, etc. If you want to transfer calls also to ISDN telephones, the same code must be set in these ISDN units. Note: If the parameter Delayed disconnect is ON (see programming), then a incoming call on an ab-line can be sized again even after some time (only if the calling party is still on the line). But this is only possible with change of calls on the same analog line. © Ascom Business Systems AG 6 V1. 0 / 1Q -1999 a NT+2ab Mark II User Manual 3. 3 Call waiting (CW) It is possible that someone calls you while you are engaged in a telephone call. If you have activated the "Call waiting" function (programmed parameter), incoming calls are signaled by a special ringing tone (while you are connected). Accepting the new call can be made by rejecting the active connection or by putting the active call in HOLD To reject the new call (keep on with the existing call) Setting / Action Code for the analog telephone Reaction in the telephone Keep the existing call · RR · Invite-tone for code (reject the waiting call) ·0 · The new call is rejected To accept the new call (reject the existing) Setting / Action Code for the analog telephone Reaction in the telephone Change to the new call · RR · Invite-tone for code (the old is finished) ·1 · Connected to the new call (the old is terminated) If you reject one of the calls (either the existing or the new call), you will only have one active connection (no connections in HOLD). To accept the new call (put the existing call in HOLD) Setting / Action Code for the analog telephone Reaction in the telephone Change to the new call · RR · Invite-tone for code (the old call is put to ·2 · Connected to the new call HOLD) (the old is put to HOLD) If you accept the new call by putting the existing call in HOLD, you will be in the same situation (1 call active / 1 call in HOLD) as if you would have set-up a 2nd call (see also chapter "Establish 2nd Connection). Note: The CW signaling is very short. If you do not want to accept the new call, you can also just ignore this signaling. The calling party will not be informed, and will hear a normal ringing tone. The call waiting service can be turned off generally by programming the according parameters. A usage "call-by-call" is because of the necessary handling not recommended. 3. 4. 1 Call Deflection (CD) In ISDN, the service Call Deflection helps to transfer an incoming call (while it is ringing) to another number. This service cannot be supported by the analog interfaces, as a signaling is used (for permanent diversion see Call Forwarding). It can only be supported in the Call waiting situation, this means when a second call is waiting, while you are engaged with an other call. To divert the new call to another number (keep the existing connection) Setting / Action Code for the analog telephone Reaction in the telephone Divert the new call to an · RR · Invite-tone for code other number ·4 · Enter code for CD ·* · Confirm signaling · (Telephone-Nr) · Enter telephone number · RR · Return to the old connection © Ascom Business Systems AG 7 V1. 0 / 1Q -1999 a NT+2ab Mark II User Manual 3. 4 Handling of 2 calls Before you can handle two calls (e. g. This can be used, if you want to call somebody, that should not be informed about your Telephone number. Set-up a call without ID (CLIP -> CLIR per call): Setting / Action Code for the analog telephone Set CLIR (per call) · <Hook-off> ·* · 31 ·* · (Telephone-Nr) Reaction in the telephone · New dial-tone · start signaling · enter code · confirm signaling · enter Telephone number © Ascom Business Systems AG 14 V1. 0 / 1Q -1999 a NT+2ab Mark II User Manual 3. 7 Malicious Call identification (MCID) You can have malicious calls registered during the call or within several seconds after the caller has hung up (the timing depends on the operators network). If so, the Identification of the calling party is stored in the network, even if he has set-up his CLIR-Functionality (and no number is shown normally) Note: This is a special service, which is only used in exceptional situations.
