[. . . ] the operation of eurocoM terminals over a LAN is a practical solution in installations with an existing LAN infrastructure. In both configurations Ascom roIp digitizes analogue voice signals and transfers them by means of VoIp technology to the remote station. Features include the ability to transmit and receive digital voice; data and status of control lines such as push-to-talk are forwarded transparently. Ascom roIp r (ruggedized version) is robust and resilient to extreme environmental conditions of isolated ad-hoc deployments. the ultra rugged enclosure is hermetically sealed to withstand severe humidity and dust exposure as well as extreme temperatures. It's also available in a non ruggedized 19'' housing -- Ascom roIp 19" -- incorporating multiple roIp units for a total of 12 radio links.
