DO NOT MOVE THE KETTLE WHILE IT IS SWITCHED ON. 4 5 Know your Breville Glass Kettle Operating your Breville Glass Kettle Before first use Remove any packaging material or promotional stickers before using your kettle for the first time. It is recommended before the first use to fill the kettle to the maximum level with cold tap water, bring to the boil and then discard the water. Your kettle will only operate when positioned on the power base with the ON/OFF switch in the ON position. Plug the power cord into the 230/240V power outlet and switch `ON'. Always fill the kettle to between the minimum (MIN) and maximum (MAX) marks indicated on the handle on the kettle. Lift up the ON/OFF to switch it OFF, switch OFF at the power outlet and allow kettle to cool before refilling. Filling above the maximum mark on the exterior of the kettle may result in boiling water splashing from the kettle. Safety locking hinged lid Scale filter Operation of your kettle 1. To fill the kettle with water, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the button on top of the lid back towards the handle and lift the lid up. Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks on the water window. [. . . ] To clean the scale deposits on the filter, fully open the lid, hold the handle and run it under hot water and rub with a cleaning cloth or brush. Any brown stains appearing are the result of mineral deposits and are not rust. To clean the exterior The outside of the kettle may be wiped over with a damp cloth and polished with a soft dry cloth. Do not use chemical, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle. Note The filter could become damaged with time, please check regularly and replace if found damaged.
