Closed top Tender
It is best to have the sound projected up instead of down. Use a small, sharp, drill bit (#60) to open a series of holes within the speaker cone diameter. Be sure to cover all sides of the speaker so no air can escape.
In larger tenders with a lot of air passage between the tender top and frame, it may becomes necessary to make your own enclosure as shown here. Especially if you don't want to drill the top open (or it's an oil burner). [. . . ] [. . . ]
