This product will ensure easy and accurate control over 2 - 4 PCs through a single console. The SCOUTcombo supports high resolutions of up to 2048 x 1536 without any deterioration of the image quality. [. . . ] Connect the green PS/2 (6-pin MiniDIN) mouse connector to the PS/2 mouse port on your computer. For a USB keyboard and mouse connect the USB connector to the USB port on your computer. Power up the first computer, and then verify keyboard and mouse functionality. If you find that the keyboard or mouse is not working correctly, verify that all cables are properly connected, or that the HID drivers are loaded on the computer Note: USB keyboards with an integrated USB hub are not supported. 1. Rear Panel Layout 2-Port switch Using the SCOUTcombo The SCOUTcombo provides two methods to select the desired computer. You may either use the Select button on the unit, or make use of the keyboard Hot Key commands. Keyboard Hot Key commands To send Hot Key commands to the SCOUTcombo switch, press and release Scroll Lock Scroll Lock within 5 seconds. The following commands are supported: First Key Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Second Key Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Command Key 1 Enter 1 Command Result , 2 , 3 or 4 Enter Enter Enter S Enter S 5 Enter Switches to PC connected to port 1 Switches to the desired PC Switch to previous PC Switch to next PC Toggle Auto-Scan mode ON Set Auto-Scan interval to 5 seconds. The scan interval can be between 5 to 250 Seconds In Auto-Scan mode, the image shown on the monitor will automatically switch to the next computer. The delay is user definable between 5 to 250 seconds (see Table above). After the last computer has been shown, the first computer will be shown again. To change from the default of Scroll Lock Scroll Lock please use the following sequence: Ctrl Ctrl [NEW HOT KEY] [ENTER] for example: Ctrl Ctrl Caps Lock Enter New Hot Key: Caps Lock Caps Lock The following combinations are available for Hot Keys: Scroll Lock Scroll Lock (default) Caps Lock Caps Lock Num Lock Num Lock Note: the new hot keys will remain in effect until power is switched off, or reset. SUN Combo keys The SCOUTcombo can emulate some of the special SUN keys to perform special functions in the SUN Operating System environment. So when the SCOUTcombo is connected to a SUN computer, the switch emulates these SUN keys using a set of key combinations called Combo keys. If we cannot solve your problem, and determine that the fault is in the unit, we will issue a Return Material Authorisation (RMA) number that must appear on the outside of all returned products. The unit should be double-packed in the original container, insured, and shipped to the address given to you by our Technical Support representative. Limited Warranty Daxten warrants to the end user that this product is and will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. If during the warranty period the product should fail, the purchaser must promptly call Daxten for a RETURN MATERIALS AUTHORIZATION (RMA) number.
