[. . . ] The Jimi Hendrix ExperienceTM Artist Series Pedal was conceived in conjunction with the Hendrix family and Eddie Kramer, Jimi's engineer at Olympic and Electric Lady Studios. To capture Jimi's tones we first identified and then modeled all the key components within the signal path, including MarshallTM Super LeadTM and FenderTM BassManTM amps, Dallas ArbiterTM Fuzz FaceTM, Roger MayerTM OctaviaTM, UnicordTM UnivibeTM, and VoxTM Clyde McCoy WahTM pedals. We then finished it off with Production Modeling to capture seven distinctive tones from classic Jimi recordings. Included Items The DigiTech® Jimi Hendrix ExperienceTM Artist Series Pedal includes the following items: · DigiTech Jimi Hendrix Experience Artist Series Pedal · Artist Series Pedal Gig Bag · Jimi Hendrix Artist Series Guitar Pick · PS0913B Power Supply · This Owner's Manual · DigiTech Warranty Card · DigiTech Brochure Please make sure that all of these items have been included before you get started. Jimi Hendrix ExperienceTM I/O Diagram MODEL DESCRIPTIONS MODEL 1. "Purple Haze" Inspired by a dream, "Purple Haze" started a heavy metal avalanche that's still thundering today. In the intro, Jimi's guitar takes center stage with a Dallas ArbiterTM Fuzz FaceTM distortion pedal, a MarshallTM 100 watt Super LeadTM amplifier, and an EMT Plate Reverb. The solo adds a Roger MayerTM OctaviaTM pedal to the mix, contributing to the song's surreal, other-worldly tone. "Wind Cries Mary" Written in just one day (after an argument with his girlfriend) and recorded in just 20 minutes, "Wind Cries Mary" demonstrates Jimi's subtler use of effects and his connection to the blues. The intro and solo both feature an EMT Plate Reverb and a Marshall 100 watt Super Lead amplifier, but the solo has more gain. Step on the HEEL SWITCH to toggle this model's solo tone. MODEL 3. "Foxey Lady" Legend has it Jimi wrote "Foxey Lady" with a specific woman in mind: the future wife of a fellow rock and roll icon. The intro and solo use a Dallas ArbiterTM Fuzz FaceTM distortion pedal, a MarshallTM 100 watt Super LeadTM amp, and an EMT Plate Reverb to generate the churning, searing tones he was looking for. "Little Wing" Jimi and Eddie Kramer (his recording engineer) continued to redefine what a guitar could sound like on "Little Wing, " using a Marshall 100 watt Super Lead amp, an EMT Plate Reverb, and a custom-built rotary speaker to add a unique swirling quality to the song's intro. (You can control the amount of rotary effect with the EXPRESSION PEDAL. ) The solo has a fixed amount of rotary and more gain, plus a tape flanging effect. (You can control the amount of tape flange effect with the EXPRESSION PEDAL. ) Step on the TOE SWITCH to activate this model's intro tone. In stereo mode (Flexible Output Modes 2 and 3), Model 4's intro tone's output is separated into a slightly dirty amp sound (OUTPUT 1), and a clean direct sound with some compression (OUTPUT 2). "All Along The Watchtower" To this day, Jimi's version of this song is more familiar than the original. The intro features an acoustic guitar, accentuated with compression and an EMT Plate Reverb. The first solo boasts a MarshallTM 100 watt Super LeadTM amp, delay, and EMT Plate Reverb. The second solo adds a VoxTM Clyde McCoy WahTM effect to the first. Step on the HEEL SWITCH to cycle through this model's two solo tones. The EXPRESSION PEDAL controls the delay in Model 5's solo tone 1 and the Wah in Model 5's solo tone 2. "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" The unmistakable intro demonstrates Jimi's mastery of the Vox Clyde McCoy Wah pedal, and helped popularize the effect. Besides the Wah, the intro tone also uses a Brownface FenderTM BassmanTM amp, slapback delay, and an EMT Plate Reverb. The first solo replaces the Wah with a DallasTM ArbiterTM Fuzz FaceTM distortion pedal. The second solo throws everything in: the Wah, distortion, Bassman amp, slapback delay, and EMT Reverb. Step on the HEEL SWITCH to cycle through this model's two solo tones. "Star Spangled Banner (Live)"/"Machine Gun" Jimi used a UnicordTM UnivibeTM pedal, MarshallTM 100 watt Super LeadTM amp, and a hall reverb to create the "Machine Gun" tone, as peformed by the group Jimi formed late in his career, the Band of Gypsys. The "Star Spangled Banner" solo adds a Dallas ArbiterTM Fuzz FaceTM to produce Jimi's screaming, skyrocketing tones from his mind-bending Woodstock performance. Step on the HEEL SWITCH to activate this model's solo tone. The EXPRESSION PEDAL controls the Univibe speed in both tones. Control Table - Expression Pedal Control Table - Knobs Flexible Output ModesTM The Jimi Hendrix ExperienceTM pedal has three Flexible Output Modes: Mono, Stereo Mixer and Stereo Amp. These modes let you send a mono signal to an amp or mixer, or a stereo signal to two amps or two channels of a mixer.
