Turn this knob clockwise to increase the output level, and counter-clockwise to decrease output level. Attack Knob Controls the amount of attack and release of the compression effect. Turning this knob clockwise gradually increases the attack time and shortens the release time of the compression effect. Turn this knob clockwise to increase the high frequency content, and counter-clockwise to decrease the high frequency content. Sustain Knob This knob is used to set both the threshold and output gain of the compression effect. Set between the minimum and the 11 o'clock positions, you get mild to medium compression that limits the peak input signals. Set between the 12 o'clock and max positions, you will achieve greater sustain when balancing this control's setting with the Level control. You can also drive the input of an amplifier harder when this control is turned up which may help to increase distortion. Connecting a cable to this jack engages battery power even though the Indicator LED may be off. To prolong battery life, disconnect cables from the pedal when not in use. 7. Pedal Release Pins These two pins are spring-loaded hinges that hold the pedal in place. Push either pin in to release the pedal from the chassis, exposing the battery compartment. [. . . ] Make sure the battery cable does not interfere with the spring or pedal switch arm. Push the opposite pin in and lower the other side of the pedal into place over the depressed pin. When the pedal is properly fastened, both released pins are flush with the outer side of the pedal.
