[. . . ] WHAT THE FX84 DOES The FX84 Milk Box compressor has formatable compression, and has special high frequency expansion circuitry. The extra creamy compression the FX84 Milk Box addes with the high frequency expansion (PASTEURIZATION) allows you to completely control the dynamics of your guitar. [. . . ] To set up your own sound with the FX84 start by turning the HI EXP and ATTACK controls down, and turn the LEVEL and COMPRESS controls to 12 O' clock. Adjust the COMPRESS, HI EXP, and ATTACK controls to the desired levels, and adjust the LEVEL so the effected signal volume matches the bypass volume. On the following pages, are examples of different types of sounds, along with graphic representations of how to set the knobs. Since good (or bad) guitar sounds are a subjective matter, use these examples as starting points to create your own sounds that meet your specific tastes, or lack thereof. LIGHT COMPRESSION Use this setting for a light compression sound. This will take those annoying edges off, but not effect anything else. HEAVY COMPRESSION To squeeze every last bit, and just plain milk your guitar for everything it's worth, use this setting. Turn the LEVEL to 12 O' clock, the COMPRESS up, and the HI EXP and ATTACK down. Your guitar will sound squashed but will have endless sustain. BRIGHT HEAVY COMPRESSION If you want to squeeze your sound and give your high end some brilliance, try this setting. Turn the LEVEL to 12 O' clock, the COMPRESS up, the HI EXP up, and ATTACK down. Brilliant high end without your volume getting out of control, what more could you ask for? · Unauthorized repair of the FX84 will void the warranty.
