[. . . ] WHAT THE FX86B DOES The FX86B creates a grinding wall of noise perfect for harmonic corruption of the highest order. The FX86B emulates the death metal and grindcore sounds of Napalm Death. [. . . ] The SCREAM (HIGH) knob control the high-frequency (treble) content of the guitar signal (when the effect is on). This control adds more edge to your sound, allowing your guitar sound to shatter glass (or at least sound like it). The PAIN (MID) knob controls the mid-frequencies and can make your skin crawl if turned up. When it's turned down, it makes the GUTS (LOW) and SCREAM (HIGH) controls even more effective. On the following pages, some examples of different types of sounds are shown, along with graphic representations of how to set the knobs. Since good (or bad) guitar sounds are a subjective matter, use these examples as starting points to create your own sounds that meet your specific tastes, or lack thereof. CONNECTING THE FX86B Connect your guitar to the input of the FX86B. Connect the OUTPUT of the FX86B to your amp (or to the input of another effects device you may be running). To eliminate the need for a 9-volt battery, attach the DOD PS200R power supply to the AC adapter jack. This guitar sound is sure to destroy some speakers. The dropped mids enhance the bass and highs.
