F E AT U R E S - O P E R AT I O N S USING THE PROGRAMMABLE TIMER AccuTemp PlusTM allows the user to program the heater to turn on at a preset time, or turn off after a set amount of time. While the heater is running, press and hold the up and down buttons simultaneously. By pressing the up and down buttons, program the heater to turn off up to 16 hours from the current time in increments of 1 hour. After setting the timer, the LED display will return to show the current room temperature. For HFH6408 only, a LED will illuminate to show that the timer is activated. After the predetermined length of time has passed, the heater will automatically shut off. While the heater is off, press and hold the up and down buttons simultaneously. By pressing the up and down buttons, program the heater to turn on up to 16 hours in advance of current time in increments of 1 hour. After the preset length of time has passed, the heater will automatically turn on at the last mode setting that was programmed. If no program was set, the heater will turn on Auto Mode HI Power at 75° for a preset time of 2 hours. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 ft (0. 9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor location. NEVER locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater. DO NOT operate heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored. Use appliance only for intended household use as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. NOTE: To shut the unit off at any time, press and hold the mode button down for two seconds. For 6408 only, after heater is turned off, fan will run for 30 seconds to cool unit.
