Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] 07002 GTH27V48LS Owner's Manual Gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol (E10) is acceptable for use in this machine. The use of any gasoline exceeding 10% ethanol (E10) will void the product warranty. 532 44 16-27 Rev. 1 SAFETY RULES Safe Operation Practices for Ride-On Mowers DANGER: THIS CUTTING MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF AMPUTATING HANDS AND FEET AND THROWING OBJECTS. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WARNING: In order to prevent accidental starting when setting up, transporting, adjusting or making repairs, always disconnect spark plug wire and place wire where it cannot contact spark plug. [. . . ] However, periodic charging of the battery with an automotive charger will extend its life. NOTE: The original equipment battery on your tractor is maintenance free. TO CLEAN BATTERY AND TERMINALS Corrosion and dirt on the battery and terminals can cause the battery to “leak” power. • Disconnect BLACK battery cable first then RED battery cable and remove battery from tractor. • Clean terminals and battery cable ends with wire brush until bright. • Reinstall battery (See “REPLACING BATTERY" in the SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS section of this manual). 02828 ROS "ON" POSITION ENGINE "ON" POSITION (NORMAL OPERATING) Fig. 15 15 MAINTENANCE V-BELTS Check V-belts for deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary. Replace belts if they begin to slip from wear. DOCKING POSITION OIL DRAIN EXTENSION TRANSAXLE MAINTENANCE The transmission fan and cooling fins should be kept clean to ensure proper cooling. Do not attempt to clean fan or transmission while engine is running or while the transmission is hot. To prevent possible damage to seals, do not use high pressure water or steam to clean transmission. • Inspect cooling fan to be sure fan blades are intact and clean. • Inspect cooling fins for dirt, grass clippings and other materials. To prevent damage to seals, do not use compressed air or high pressure sprayer to clean cooling fins. 02 46 3 Fig. 18 CAP TRANSAXLE PUMP FLUID The transaxle was sealed at the factory and fluid maintenance is not required for the life of the transaxle. Should the transaxle ever leak or require servicing, contact your nearest authorized service center/department. ENGINE LUBRICATION Only use high quality detergent oil rated with API service classification SG-SL. Select the oil’s SAE viscosity grade according to your expected operating temperature. SAE VISCOSITY GRADES SAE 30 5W-30 F C -30 -20 -20 0 -10 30 32 0 40 10 60 20 80 30 100 40 3. After oil is drained completely, replace cap and twist clockwise until it stops. For approximate capacity see “PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS” section of this manual. For accurate reading, tighten dipstick cap securely onto the tube before removing dipstick. Tighten cap onto the tube securely when finished. AIR FILTER Your engine will not run properly using a dirty air filter. Service air cleaner more often under dusty conditions. ENGINE OIL FILTER Replace the engine oil filter every season or every other oil change if the tractor is used more than 100 hours in one year. CLEAN AIR SCREEN Air screen must be kept free of dirt and chaff to prevent engine damage from overheating. Clean with a wire brush or compressed air to remove dirt and stubborn dried gum fibers. TEMPERATURE RANGE ANTICIPATED BEFORE NEXT OIL CHANGE Fig. [. . . ] Actual gross engine power will be lower and is affected by, among other things, ambient operating conditions and engine-to-engine variability. Given both the wide array of products on which engines are placed and the variety of environmental issues applicable to operating the equipment, the gas engine will not develop the rated gross power when used in a given piece of power equipment (actual “on-site” or net power). This difference is due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to, accessories (air cleaner, exhaust, charging, cooling, carburetor, fuel pump, etc. ), application limitations, ambient operating conditions (temperature, humidity, altitude), and engine-to-engine variability. Due to manufacturing and capacity limitations, Briggs & Stratton may substitute an engine of higher rated power for this Series engine. 37 TRACTOR - MODEL NO. [. . . ]
