Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Before leaving the operator's position: - disengage the power take-off and lower the attachments; - change into neutral and set the parking brake; - stop the engine and remove the key. Disengage drive to attachments, stop the engine, and disconnect the spark plug wire(s) or remove the ignition key - before cleaning blockages or unclogging chute; - before checking, cleaning or working on the lawnmower; - after striking a foreign object. Inspect the lawnmower for damage and make repairs before restarting and operating the equipment; - if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately). Stop the engine and disengage drive to attachment - before refueling; - before removing the grass catcher; - before making height adjustment unless adjustment can be made from the operator's position. [. . . ] Check that the front wheels are aligned forward and place the wheel on the hub. Remove the hardware securing seat to the cardboard packing and set the hardware aside for assembly of seat to tractor. Place seat on seat pan so head of shoulder bolt is positioned over large slotted hole in pan (1). Push down on seat to engage shoulder bolt in slot and pull seat towards rear of tractor. the seat is adjustable for individual setting in relation to the clutch and brake pedal. Set the seat to the correct position by moving it forwards or backwards. Check that the flex is correctly connected to the safety switch (3) on the seat holder. Install battery NOTE: If battery is put into service after month and year indicated on label, charge battery for minimum of one hour at 6-10 amps. WARNING: Before installing battery remove metal bracelets, wrist watch bands, rings, etc. WARNING: Positive terminal must be connected first to prevent sparks from accidental grounding. The accelerator control regulates the motor speed and also the speed of the blades. Choose a driving speed which suits the terrain and required cutting results. Clear the lawn from stones and other objects which can be thrown away by the blades. Begin with a high cutting height and reduce until the required cutting result is obtained. The cutting result is best with high engine speed (blades rotate quickly) and low gear (machine goes slowly). If the grass is not too long and thick the drive speed can be increased by selecting a higher gear or reducing the motor speed, without affecting the cutting result. Cutting becomes more even and the cut grass is more evenly distributed over the surface. Total time taken is not greater, since higher drive speed can be selected without affecting the cutting results. The cutting results will be worse since the wheels will sink into the soft lawn. Drive in right turns so that the cut grass is thrown away from flower beds and paths, etc. For larger lawns the drive direction should be changed after 2-3 turns so that the cut grass is thrown towards the area that has already been cut as shown in the illustration. Use the left side of the machine to cut close to trees, bushes and paths, etc. [. . . ] NOTE: If additional clearance is needed to get to adjustment bolt, move mower deck height to the lowest position. After above adjustment is made, if the tractor still creeps forward or backward while motion control lever is in neutral position, follow these steps: · Move the motion control lever 1/4 to 1/2 inch in the direction it is trying to creep. The fan and cooling fins of transmission should be kept clean to assure proper cooling. Do not attempt to clean fan or transmission while engine is running or while the transmission is hot. [. . . ]
