Welcome
Thank you for purchasing one of the industry's most feature-rich dual display KVMs, with USB peripheral sharing and audio technology. You'll save money and space by eliminating the need for multiple monitors, keyboards, mice, as well as USB peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and more. Sharing speakers and a microphone also offers extra value and convenience for the users. A single USB console can control a PC and a Mac workstation, and share peripherals and audio between the computers. [. . . ] The Port ID of a computer is derived from the CPU port number it is connected to. The Port ID is used to specify which computer gets the KVM USB peripheral, and audio focus with the Hotkey port selection method.
Port Switching There are two ways to access the computers in your KVM setup: · Manual switching pressing the push-buttons on the unit's front panel · Hotkey switching entering commands from the keyboard

Manual Switching 1. Brings the KVM, USB hub, and audio focus to the computer attached to the port corresponding to the specified Port ID. Brings only the KVM focus to the computer attached to the specified port. Brings only the USB hub focus to the computer attached to the specified port. Brings only the audio focus to the computer attached to the specified port. Brings the KVM and USB hub focus to the computer attached to the specified port. Brings the KVM and audio focus to the computer attached to the specified port. Brings the USB hub and audio focus to the computer attached to the specified port. The KVM focus remains where it is.
Note: The n stands for the computer's Port ID number (1, 2, 3, or 4). Replace the n with the appropriate Port ID when entering hotkey combinations.

Starts Auto Scan. The value for n can be 1 to 99.
Note: · While Auto Scan is active, ordinary keyboard and mouse functions are suspended only Auto Scan mode compliant keystrokes and mouse clicks can be entered. · Although the video focus switches from port to port, the keyboard, mouse, and USB focus doesn't switch.

Hotkey Operation Hotkey Setting Mode
Invoking Hotkey Mode For all Hotkey operations, you must use the number keypad on the right side of your keyboard. Release Minus key [ - ] and within one second also release Num Lock key The KVM will now enter Hotkey mode; indicated by blinking of the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock LEDs on the top right-hand corner.

To invoke Hotkey Mode (Mac keyboards): 1. Release Minus key [ - ] and within one second also release Clear key The KVM will now enter Hotkey mode; indicated by blinking of the Caps Lock LED. On some MAC keyboards, this LED is located on the center of the Caps Lock key.

Note: · If using the Num Lock and Minus key to invoke Hotkey function is not optimal for your setup, refer to the next page to change the hotkey invocation keys. When Hotkey Mode is active, the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock LEDs flash in succession to indicate that HSM is in effect. Ordinary keyboard and mouse functions are suspended only Hotkey compliant keystrokes and mouse clicks can be input. At the conclusion of some hotkey operations, you automatically exit Hotkey mode. With some operations, you must exit manually by pressing the Esc or Spacebar on your keyboard.

Alternate Hotkey Mode Invocation Keys In case the default Hotkey Mode invocation keys (Num Lock and Minus) are not optimal in your setup, you may change them to Ctrl and F12, respectively. To switch to an alternate Hotkey Mode invocation, do the following: 1. Invoke Hotkey Mode (see page 22 for PC keyboard and page 23 for Mac keyboard) 2. [. . . ] Run the downloaded Firmware Upgrade Package file - either by double-clicking the file icon, or by opening a command line and entering the full path to it. The Firmware Upgrade Utility Welcome screen appears: Read and Agree to the License Agreement (enable the I Agree radio button).
