There is also a DC3V lithium battery, type CR2032 for clock and radio preset backing during main power outage. Please change to a fresh battery every 12 months to ensure proper backup function. Following the polarity diagram as shown in the battery compartment, insert 4 X `AA' (UM-3) alkaline batteries. When the AC adaptor is connected to the DC jack, the batteries are automatically disconnected. Be sure to use the included AC adaptor or one with a correct ratings and polarity. After powering up the unit, a clock display will appear in the unit's LCD panel. Then initalize the unit by pressing the Reset button adjacent to the Backup Battery Compartment before setting up the clock. BASIC OPERATION Turn on the unit by pressing the Power ON/OFF button either on the main unit or on the remote control. Function modes (iPod/AUX/radio) can be changed by pressing the Function button on either the main unit or on the remote control. The volume of the unit can be controlled by pressing the volume buttons on the main unit or on the remote. 5 SETUP AND OPERATIONS Fold-out Stand - The Main Battery Compartment at the rear also functions as a stand for the unit. - Fully fold it out until the 2 spring-loaded buttons on either sides pop out and lock the stand in place securely. - To return the stand to its home cavity, press and hold the 2 buttons at the same time while folding it up. Clock Operation - Power off the unit. - Press "CLK SET" button to confirm setting and return to clock mode. Alarm Time Setting Operation - Power off the unit. - Press " " button on unit to select Wake Mode: Buzzer / Radio / iPod. SET" button again to confirm the setting and return to clock mode. - The "ALARM" icon and Buzzer/Radio/iPod icon will show on the display. Note: - If radio is selected, alarm turns on to the last station you were listening to. - If wake to iPod is selected, alarm turns on and plays the last track you were listening to. - If wake to iPod is selected without iPod player docked, it will switch to "Wake to Buzzer" automatically. - If wake to iPod is selected, iPod must be properly docked and in off mode. - Make sure your iPod has enough songs to play for 60 minutes, otherwise, please set the iPod to repeat mode.
