If your unit is damaged or fails to operate, notify your dealer immediately. If your unit was shipped to you directly, notify the shipping company without delay. Only the consignee (the person or company receiving the unit) can file a claim against the carrier for shipping damage. [. . . ] q The edited contents can be stored on the disc after several editing steps have been performed. Cautions: q Whilst "TOC" or "TOC EDIT!" is displayed, do not do any of the following. If you do, the changes in the recorded or edited contents will be lost if the TOC information is not recorded properly. q If the AC adaptor is unplugged or a power failure occurs whilst recording (before the TOC information has been written on the disc), the new recording will be erased. (Insert the MiniDisc firmly, until a click is heard. ) q The power will be turned on automatically, and playback will start from the first track. (Auto-play function) Track number Volume (0 - 30) 5 Adjust the bass level. Each time the BASS/DELETE button is pressed, the tone will be switched as follows: Track name (Nothing will be displayed for MiniDiscs that do not contain track names. ) BASS 1 BASS 2 BASS 3 Bass sounds are emphasised slightly. However, if the MiniDisc is removed and reinserted, playback will start from the first track. When using the unit with just the batteries in the battery case: q The auto-play function will not work. q Even if a MiniDisc is replaced whilst the power is turned off, the random or repeat play settings will remain unchanged in memory. Precautions when making connections: q Do not use any remote control unit, except for the one included with this unit. Interrupted sound: q This product is designed to eliminate interruptions in the sound which can be caused by vibrations. However, if the unit is continuously exposed to vibrations or mechanical shock, the sound may be interrupted momentarily. When the sound is distorted: q If the volume is too high whilst the bass is being emphasised, the sound may be distorted, depending on the music on the track. [. . . ] q Since a track number is currently being located or written to, the unit cannot accept your command. q There is no space left for recording character information (track names, disc names, etc. ). q Recording cannot be performed correctly due to vibration or shock in the unit. Remedy q Charge the rechargeable battery or replace the alkaline batteries (or use the AC adaptor for power). [. . . ]
