[. . . ] 500/420 User manual [Enlarge Display Operations] Introduction Thank you for choosing this machine. The bizhub 500/420 User manual [Enlarge Display Operations] contains details on the operation of the various functions available in the Enlarge Display mode of the bizhub 500/420 and on the various operating precautions. In order to ensure that this machine is used correctly and efficiently, carefully read the Enlarge Display Mode Operations volume of the User manual before using the machine. In addition, read chapter 2 "Installation and Operation Precautions", of the User manual [Copy Operations]. [. . . ] The following Folding settings are available. Setting Half Fold Fold & Staple Description Select this setting to fold copies in half before feeding them out. Select this setting to staple copies at two places along the center, then fold the copies in half before feeding them out. Copies can be folded and stapled only when the Saddle Stitcher SD-502 is installed in the Finisher FS-510. Copies are stapled at the center, then folded in half before being fed out. 2 Note During the Enlarge Display mode, the 1%2 setting and Booklet function are not automatically selected along with Fold & Staple or Half Fold mode, as they are in normal display mode. Further, Booklet cannot be specified in Enlarge Display mode, while the 1%2 setting is available. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-35 2 To select a Folding setting Using copy functions 1 Touch [Folding] on the Basic Screen. The Folding Screen will be displayed. 2 Select the desired settings. ­ To cancel changes to the settings, touch [Cancel]. 3 2-36 Touch [OK]. The Basic Screen will be restored. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 2. 10 Selecting the Paper settings Specifying the paper size The size of the paper loaded into the bypass tray can be specified. For details on selecting the Paper settings, refer to the User manual [Copy Operations]. The size of the paper loaded into the bypass tray can be selected in any of the following ways. Setting Auto Detect Custom Size Description Select this setting to automatically detect the size of the paper loaded into the 1st tray. A custom paper size can be set so that the paper tray is used specifically with the selected paper size. In order to specify a custom paper size in Enlarge Display mode, the custom paper size must first be stored before entering Enlarge Display mode. The following procedure describes how to specify the size of the paper loaded into the bypass tray. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-37 2 To specify a paper size Using copy functions 1 Touch [Paper] on the Basic Screen. The Paper Screen will be displayed. 2 Touch [Bypass]. ­ To change the paper size settings for a paper tray other than the bypass tray, refer to the User manual [Copy Operations]. 2-38 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 3 Touch [Paper Size]. 4 Touch either [Auto Detect] or [Custom Size]. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-39 2 Using copy functions Touching [Custom Size] will display the Custom Size Screen. ­ On this screen, you can select up to 5 custom sizes previously registered. Touch [Custom 1], [Custom 2], or [Custom 3], then touch the desired key. 5 Touch [OK], and then touch [OK] in the next two screens that appear. The Basic Screen will be restored. 2-40 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 To select a Paper Type setting If a setting for special paper, such as overhead projector transparencies and other special paper, is selected for a paper tray, that tray is not selected automatically with the "Auto Paper Select" setting or the automatic paper-tray-switching feature. There are limits on the types of paper that can be loaded in a paper tray. For details on the types of paper that can be loaded, refer to the User manual [Copy Operations]. If overhead projector transparencies or thick paper is loaded into the paper tray, be sure to select the corresponding paper type, otherwise a paper misfeed may occur. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-41 2 Using copy functions The following procedure describes how to specify the setting for special paper loaded into the bypass tray. 1 Touch [Paper] on the Basic Screen. The Paper Screen will be displayed. 2 Touch [Bypass]. ­ To change the paper size settings for a paper tray other than the bypass tray, refer to the User manual [Copy Operations]. 2-42 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 3 Touch [Paper Type]. 4 Select the setting for a special paper type. Touch the key for the desired paper type. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-43 2 Using copy functions ­ To cancel changes to the settings, touch [Cancel]. 5 Touch [OK], in each screen. The Basic Screen will be displayed. 2-44 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 2. 11 Scanning the next document during printing (reserving a copy job) The settings for the next copy job can be specified and the original can be scanned while a copy operation is being performed so that it can be printed once the current copy operation is finished. ! Detail Up to 61 copy jobs, including the current copy job, can be reserved. A copy job can be reserved after scanning of the loaded original is finished. The next job cannot be reserved while a original is being scanned. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-45 2 To reserve a copy job Using copy functions 1 Press [Start] to begin scanning and printing the current copy job. A message appears, indicating that the original is being scanned. 2-46 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 2 When the message "Ready to accept another job. " appears, copy settings can be specified for the next copy job. ­ For details on positioning the original, refer to "Feeding the original" on page 1-14. 3 4 Press [Start]. When the current copy job is finished, the copy settings for the next copy job are automatically displayed and the copy operation begins. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 2-47 2 Using copy functions 2. 12 Stopping scanning/printing The following procedure describes how to stop scanning the original and stop the printing operation. To stop scanning/printing 1 Press [Stop] while a document is being scanned or a job is being printed. If a document is being scanned for a job, pressing the [Stop] key stops scanning. 2-48 bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) Using copy functions 2 2 ! To continue all stopped jobs, press [Start]. Detail To delete the stopped job, touch [Delete]. [. . . ] Touch [Yes]. The user authentication will be displayed. bizhub 500/420 (Phase 2) 5-7 5 Additional copy operations When the screen to enter the account name or password appears If the message "Input Account Name and Password to login and press Access key. " appears, account track settings have been specified on this machine. If account track settings have been applied, this machine can only be used by users who enter their account name and password.
