Agfa and Agfa Intelifont, Agfa font Manager are registered trademarks of Agfa Corporation. [. . . ] Paper source: This setting identifies the location inside of the printer of the paper to be used. The various paper source options will be different depending upon the type of printer and accessories used. Paper sources might include Auto Select Tray, Tray1, Tray2, Tray3 or Manual Feed. Paper sources that are not available to your printer are identified by a red circle with a line through the middle. By setting the paper source to Auto Select Tray, the printer will automatically select the paper source according to the paper size of the document to be printed. PostScript Printer Software 5-7 Windows 95/ Windows 98 Copies: This setting selects the number of copies to be printed. Use the arrows to increase or decrease the number of copies from one to 999. Unprintable Area. . . Margins can be modified by clicking on the Unprintable Area button and decreasing/increasing the left, right, top and bottom margin dimensions. Chapter 5 PostScript Printer Software Use the "Unit" setting to select the measuring units of the Unprintable Area. Apply and save modifications by clicking OK at the bottom of the Unprintable Area dialog box. Click on Cancel to close the Unprintable Area dialog box and return to previous settings. You can restore the Unprintable Area settings to their original values by clicking the Restore Defaults button. 5-8 Windows 95/ Windows 98 More Options. . . Chapter 5 PostScript Printer Software The More Options button opens a dialog box that allows you to select printing mediums that are not available from the Paper Size settings, including transparencies. A black border placed around logical pages can also be specified here. Enable "Always use built-in fonts instead of TrueType fonts" to use this setting. Documents that are often shared or demand conformity can be printed with TrueType Fonts by enabling "Always use TrueType fonts". 5-13 Windows 95/ Windows 98 To set the format in which fonts are downloaded, click on the "Send Fonts As. . . " button. "The Send Fonts As. . . " dialog box allows fonts to be sent as an outline, bitmap, type 42 or not to be sent at all. Click on the arrow of the "Send True Type Fonts as" dialog to select one of the available types. "PostScript fonts" determines whether or not PostScript fonts are downloaded to the computer. Select "Native Format" to download PostScript fonts before the document is printed. Enable "Don't Send" to prevent PostScript fonts from being downloaded to your computer. In the Font tab, click on the "Update Soft Fonts" button to update the list of installed PostScript fonts. This option applies only to PostScript Type 1 fonts. 5-14 PostScript Printer Software When fonts that appear in both the computer and the printer are selected, a default to the printer font can be enabled by clicking on the Favor System box. Chapter 5 The threshold box controls the pixel rate at which the PostScript driver should start downloading TrueType fonts, either as bitmaps (Type 3) or outlines (Type 1).
