E NOTE · After one shot has been taken, the self-timer mode is automatically turned off. 22 Using the macro mode Use the macro mode to shoot a close-up of the subject, such as flowers or insects. Press the shutter button down halfway, then press it the rest of the way down. To cancel macro photography at any time, press the button again. E NOTE · When shooting a close-up of the subject, you can compose the picture by using the viewfinder or the LCD monitor. However, composing the picture using the viewfinder in macro mode may cause captured images to be off-center due to the parallax phenomenon. Using the flash The flash is designed to fire automatically in dark places. You can select various flash settings to take pictures in different conditions. If you change the flash setting, the camera will remain in that setting even if the camera is turned off. Press the button located on top of the camera repeatedly until the desired flash mode appears.
