Manual abstract: user guide KRESS 1400 HKS

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Saw blades which are not in accordance with the specifications stated in these operating instructions may not be used. Saw blades may not be braked by a sideways applied counter-pressure after the drive has been switched off. Check that all moving parts of the blade guard function without pinching. It should be ensured that all devices, which cover the blade, are functioning properly. [. . . ] Do not operate the saw if lower guard does not move freely and close instantly. Raise the lower guard with the retracting handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut. If the guard and the spring are not operating properly, they must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a build-up of debris. Lower guard should be retracted manually only for special cuts such as "plunge cuts" and "compound Further safety instructions according to 60745-2-5 2. 1 Safety instructions for handling · Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be visible below the workpiece. It is important to support the work properly to minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss of control. Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a "live" wire will also make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and shock the operator. This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces the chance of blade binding. Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run eccentrically, causing loss of control. Raise lower guard by retracting handle and as soon as blade enters the material, the lower guard must be released. Always observe that the lower guard is covering the blade before placing saw down on bench or floor. An unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released. For the riving knife to work, it must be thicker than the body of the blade but thinner than the tooth set of the blade. Incorrect spacing, positioning and alignment can make the riving knife ineffective in preventing kickback. Riving knife causes interference during plunge cutting and can create kickback. The riving knife is ineffective in preventing kickback during short cuts. Swing guard The swing guard (11), which covers the blade, moving back automatically when the blade is brought into the work, at the same rate at which the saw is brought in. [. . . ] This electrical tool has been designed with high precision and was approved after undergoing strict quality control checks in the factory. We are therefore able to guarantee free servicing of any production or material faults which arise in the 24 months after the date of sale to the purchaser. We reserve the right to repair defective parts or else replace them with new parts. The guarantee will be rendered void if the device is used improperly, mistreated or opened up by unauthorised repair personnel. [. . . ]
