If the hob switches off automatically and cannot be used used for a period, it may suddenly switch on at some future point. Disconnect the short circuit in the circuit breaker to prevent this from happening. [. . . ] H Always centre the pan on the hotplate and always cover the pan with the matching lid. This will save energy and will also help green vegetables retain their vitamins and minerals. 7 H During their cooking, food such as stews, soups, sauces or drinks may heat up too quickly without any indication, spilling out of the cookware. It is therefore advisable to heat this type of food gently, selecting a suitable power level and stirring the contents before and during cooking. Getting to know your appliance The operating instructions are valid for a range of cooking hobs. A general overview of the models is provided on page 2. Press the l symbol. * Hotplate activation: The corresponding indicator lights up. The last size set is selected automatically. Residual heat indicator The cooking hob has a residual heat indicator t for each hotplate to show those which are still hot. Although the hob is switched off, the t will stay lit while the hotplate is hot. Programming the hob This section shows how to adjust a hotplate. The table gives the settings and cooking times for various dishes. Switching the hob on and off To switch on The hob is switched on and off using the main switch @. The indicator F to the side of the @ symbol and indicator P lights up on all the hotplates. The residual heat warning light stays on until the hotplates have cooled down completely. To switch off 9 Indicator lights The hob is automatically switched off when all the hotplates have been switched off for a set period of time. If the hob is still hot, the residual heat indicator will light up. Adjusting the hotplate Select the required heat setting using the + and symbols. Heat setting 1 = minimum Heat setting 9 = maximum Each heat setting has an intermediate step. Press the symbol several times until the k indicator on the required hotplate gets brighter. Note: Each hotplate is accessed sequentially and in clockwise direction. 2. The basic setting appears: + symbol = heat setting b - symbol = heat setting j 3. To change the heat setting: Select the hotplate and then press the + or - symbol until the required heat setting is displayed. 10 Switching off the hotplate Select the hotplate and then press the + or - symbol until k is displayed. The hotplate is switched off and the residual heat indicator is displayed. Table of cooking times The following table provides some examples. Cooking times may vary depending on the type of food, its weight and quality.
