Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not short the battery: (1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material. A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns and even a breakdown. Do not incinerate the Battery even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. [. . . ] As long as the trigger is pulled and held, the upper shear blade continues to travel up and down (cutting continuously). If the tool is switched off after the upper shear has reached the fully closed position, the blade will proceed to and stop in the highest and full open position. WARNING: If you hereafter activate the trigger again, the cutting movement will continue . 2 & 3) Plug the fast charger into the power receptacle and connect the charging plug into the charging connector on the battery. When the charging light goes out after about one hour, the charging will be completed. If the charging light goes out within one minute after pressing the start button, the battery is dead. After charging, disconnect the charger from the battery and power receptacle. Also, a malfunction of the charger may result possibly causing overheating, etc. € If you try to charge a just-operated battery, sometimes the charging light will not come on. Overload protector The overload protector on the tool automatically cuts out to break the circuit and the button pops out, whenever heavy work is prolonged. Release the switch trigger and wait 20 – 30 seconds before pressing the restart button to resume operation. 9) WARNING: Your finger should not be on the trigger when you press the restart button. CAUTION: • Do not operate the tool in such a way that the overload protector cuts out frequently. € Do not operate the tool while keeping the restart button pressed with tape, etc. If the tool will not start even after pressing the restart button on the tool, press the restart button on the battery 1402 as well. 10) 7 MAINTENANCE CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery is disconnected from the tool before carrying out any work on the tool. [. . . ] To maintain product safety and reliability, repairs, maintenance or adjustment should be carried out by a Makita Authorized Service Center. Removing shear blades First move the upper shear blade to the highest (wide open) position. Use the hex wrench to remove the screw which secures the upper shear blade and the block. [. . . ]
