Manual abstract: user guide MAKITA DA6301

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. [. . . ] Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool "live" and shock the operator. Do not touch the drill bit or the workpiece immediately after operation; they may be extremely hot and could burn your skin. MISUSE or failure to follow the safety rules stated in this instruction manual may cause serious personal injury. DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from repeated use) replace strict adherence 3 The spade grip can be installed in either of the positions as shown in the figure. To change the location of the spade grip from one position to the other, loosen the hex bolts with a wrench and turn the spade grip to another position. CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before adjusting or checking function on the tool. CAUTION: Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released. â· Change the direction of rotation only when the tool comes to a complete stop. the switch is reversible , providing either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. To start the tool, simply pull the lower part of the switch trigger for clockwise or the upper part for counterclockwise. To change the speed, pull the pin and slide the button to the "L" position for low speed or the "H" position for high speed. If the button does not slide easily, turn the chuck slightly in either direction while sliding the button. To remove the bit, turn the chuck key counterclockwise in just one hole, then loosen the chuck by hand. CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before carrying out any work on the tool. Grasp the switch handle with one hand and the spade grip with the other hand. , the side grip (auxiliary handle) should be used as a brace to maintain safe control of the tool. When drilling action is forward (clockwise), the tool should be braced to prevent a counterclockwise reaction if the bit should bind. If the bit must be removed from a partially drilled hole, be sure the tool is properly braced before reversing. Hold the tool firmly and exert care when the bit begins to break through the workpiece. A stuck bit can be removed simply by setting the reversing switch to reverse rotation in order to back out. Avoid drilling in material that you suspect contains hidden nails or other things that may cause the bit to bind or break. [. . . ] If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at our option, replace) without charge. This Warranty does not apply where: repairs have been made or attempted by others: repairs are required because of normal wear and tear: the tool has been abused, misused or improperly maintained: alterations have been made to the tool. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. [. . . ]
