Manual abstract: user guide MAKITA PC5001C

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked "W-A" or "W". These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. [. . . ] Carefully blow the dust out of the motor, switch and dust cover areas frequently. Never use ordinary diamond wheels which may be available on the market. Never use depressed center wheels, cut-off wheels, or any other type of accessory on this tool. Failure to do so may result in serious injury or death to operator or anyone nearby. Check the offset diamond wheel carefully for cracks or damage before operation. Before using the tool on an actual workpiece, let it run for a while, keeping it away from your body. Watch for vibration or wobbling that could indicate poor installation, a poorly balanced wheel, or a damaged wheel. Do not fasten or mount the tool to a bench, table or vise and then introduce workpieces to the tool. Do not touch the offset diamond wheel immediately after operation; it may be extremely hot and could burn your skin. Otherwise the planer will leave marks on the surface, the motor speed will drop and suction efficiency will decrease. CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before adjusting or checking function on the tool. MISUSE or failure to follow the safety rules stated in this instruction manual may cause serious personal injury. CAUTION: Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released. Switch can be locked in "ON" position for ease of operator comfort during extended use. apply caution when locking tool in "ON" position and maintain firm grasp on tool. To prevent the switch trigger from accidentally pulled, a lock lever is provided. To start the tool, push in the lock lever (B) and then pull the switch trigger (A). For continuous operation, push in the lock lever (B), pull the switch trigger (A) and then push in the lock lever (B) further. To stop the tool from the locked position, pull the switch trigger (A) fully, then release it. Possible to get fine finish, because the rotating speed is kept constantly even under the loaded condition. Additionally, when the load on the tool exceeds admissible levels, power to the motor is reduced to protect the motor from overheating. When the load returns to admissible levels, the tool will operate as normal. [. . . ] With the groove being expanded, insert the inner edge of the dust cover's brush. Before performing the flush planing of corners, remove the hex bolt which secures roller holder and base holder and then take away the whole roller holder. Next, loosen the hex socket head bolt and take away the dust cover cap and then adjust the dust cover in a proper position according to your work. Always make sure to slip onto dust port all the way until it stops so that it does not come off during operation. [. . . ]
