Press Back or to return to the standby display. 39 Set up to send SMS or Email messages You can write and send text messages to other similarly equipped PCS phones or to internet Email addresses. First the network's SMS message center number and Email gateway address (obtainable from your network provider) must be stored in the phone. 1 2 3 Press Menu . Press Back or to return to the standby display. If your SIM cannot store Message Templates (see Message templates, page 42), then the Settings menu will also contain the 4 options listed below. Select whether to Store or Send another message or press Back or to return to the standby display. Messages in the outbox The outbox contains unsent draft messages, stored sent messages, and sent but undelivered messages, identified by their headers. These messages can be selected from the outbox menu and can be modified and resent as new SMS messages. Messages will be marked either "transmitted" - or "to be sent" Press to read, delete, request a status report, send (or resend) and edit a sent message. Follow the instructions. Status request on outbox messages When status is requested on a delivered message, the date and time of delivery may be shown. When status is requested on a sent message, a status request is sent to the network (must be network supported). The network will answer by sending a Status Report (SR) back to the phone. To send a status request on outbox messages, 1 Press Item for the following menu: Action Deletes the associated sent SMS message and the status report Confirm the status report and clear display . Delete Msg. Clear Associated msg Displays the associated sent SMS message 2 Select the desired action and press OK 41 Message templates If your SIM can store message templates, then Msg templates will appear in the Messages - Settings menu. Each of these templates can be named for easy identification and can be selected and used whenever needed. Enter the template Name, Msg center number, Validity period and Format. · Default settings for Reply and Status are assumed 'off' unless set. · If only one template is set, it is automatically used by default. · If more than one is set, any one can be selected to write a new message. Calls & Timers Details of incoming and outgoing calls, duration of the last call, and accumulated total of all calls made are stored in Calls & Timers menu. Call log The Call log stores details (identity, time, date, and call length) of the last 10 numbers dialed, the last 10 unanswered calls, and the last 10 received (answered) calls. The Call logs are common for both Line 1 and Line 2. 1 2 3 4 Press Menu . Use or and to scroll through the call lists. · The most recent number dialed or received is displayed first. [. . . ] · The allowed credit limit is reached during an outgoing call (the call is then cancelled). · Outgoing call fails because the destination number is being used. · CUG is in use and the call is not allowed or not recognized by the network · Network cannot take the call due to busy system · Number is out of order · Network does not answer · Option to hide your phone number when calling is not supported by the network · Control and verification of CUG parameters not confirmed, or CUG availability on network. · Cell broadcast activation is requested but no message type is selected.
