You may need this guide again in the future, so please be sure to keep it. Your ONE FOR ALL 3 can operate three devices: a Television, a Video Recorder and a second Television or Video. Magic Device Keys Power LED Number Keys Mute/Scan Volume- Programme+ Volume+ Programme- Rewind/ Text on Play/Text off TV/VCR/Red Stop/Green Fast Forward/ Expand Pause/Hold Teletext Keys Slow/Blue Record/Yellow 1 Quick Set-Up The instructions below and on the next page can be used to quickly install your new ONE FOR ALL. You can use the Quick Set-Up below with the codes listed on pages 11-18. [. . . ] The red light will blink twice. For the first digit of your four-digit code, press 1 and count the red blinks. Now you have your fourdigit code. Make sure you write your Television code in the boxes provided in the battery compartment and on page 10 for easy future reference. Important note: To blink back the code for your Video, follow the instructions above only press VCR during step 1. 9 Set-Up Codes Quick Code Reference The following pages list the codes for your equipment. If your device does not respond to the ONE FOR ALL 3 after you have tried all the codes for your brand, try the search method (page 8). Write down the codes for your devices in the boxes below and in the battery compartment, for quick and easy reference. By pressing MAGIC followed by a Volume or Channel key, you can access these functions. To adjust the colour and brightness settings: Colour up = Press then hold Colour down = Press then hold Brightness up = Press then hold Brightness down = Press then hold Punch Through You may be able to use some features of your Television and Video Recorder at the same time. If you're watching a programme on your Video, you can adjust the volume (a TV function) without first pressing the TV key. The chart below lists some of the possibilities: Last Key Pressed: VCR AUX You Can Control: TV volume up and down, mute TV volume up and down, mute 19 Advanced Features Teletext and Fastext The ONE FOR ALL 3 is designed to operate the basic functions of teletext (text on, text off, expand and hold). Symbol Title TEXT Description Puts the Television in the teletext mode. On some Televisions, this may be done by pressing the TEXT key several times. By pressing again, you can see the bottom half of the teletext page enlarged. To return to regular teletext viewing, press the EXPAND key again, or press the TEXT key, depending on your television. Stops changing pages. TV EXPAND HOLD/STOP The keys marked red, green, yellow and blue are used to access the fastext functions of your TV. Important note: For a more detailed explanation of teletext and fastext, please refer to the manual of your Television. Remember, different Televisions control teletext and fastext features in different ways. Not all of the teletext functions may be available for your particular model. 20 Advanced Features Sleeptimer Sleeptimer is a feature which comes built into many TVs. It allows you to set your device to turn off within a certain amount of time. This feature comes in handy if, for example, you enjoy falling asleep with your television on. If your TV came with this feature built in, follow the instructions "Device Sleeptimer" below. If your device did not come with this feature, follow the instructions "ONE FOR ALL Sleeptimer" Device Sleeptimer If your TV has a "Sleeptimer" function built in, you can access this function with your ONE FOR ALL remote. [. . . ] Enter the programme number exactly as you would on your original remote. To set the Volume back to TV (Punch-Through), hold the MAGIC until the red light blinks twice, then press 993 TV. As a safety feature on your ONE FOR ALL, you must press the Record key twice. Just call our consumer help-line and we'll get you on the right track. Press a key but get the wrong result? Problems changing channels? You cannot control the volume feature of your TV/Video Combination unit. Video not recording?
