This function can be set only with the remote controller. CD section Use the following buttons to operate the Onkyo's CD player with a remote controller signal sensor such as the C-1VL. 3 4 5 6 button This button is used to play CD playback. / button The Previous [ ] button is used to select the previous track. The Next [ ] button is used to select the next track. 7 7 Remote Controller--Continued Inserting the Batteries Detach the battery cover. Using the Remote Controller Point the remote controller toward the remote control sensor. Remote control sensor Insert the two R6 (size AA) batteries. Be sure to match the + and ­ ends of the batteries to the diagram inside the battery compartment. About 5 m (16 feet) Attach the battery cover. Notes: · Do not mix new batteries with old batteries. · To avoid corrosion, remove the batteries if the remote controller is not to be used for a long period of time. · Remove dead batteries immediately to avoid damage from corrosion. If the remote controller does not operate smoothly, replace both batteries at the same time. · The life of the batteries supplied is about six months but will vary depending on usage. Notes: · Place the unit away from strong light such as direct sunlight or inverted fluorescent light, which can prevent proper operation of the remote controller. · Using another remote controller of the same type in the same room or using the unit near equipment that uses infrared rays may cause operational interference. With some turntables, connecting the ground wire may cause hum, in which case it should be disconnected. · If your turntable has a moving coil (MC) type cartridge, you'll need a commercially available MC phono preamp. Connect the phono preamp to your turntable, and then connect the phono preamp to the A-SV210's PHONO L/R inputs. LINE 2 OUT L IN L R R L L R R REC PLAY (IN) (OUT) 10 Connecting the A-SV210--Continued Connecting a Power Amplifier You can use the A-SV210 as a preamplifier by connecting the A-SV210 to a power amplifier. When you use the A-SV210 as a preamplifer, connect the main in terminals on the power amplifier to the PREOUT terminals on the A-SV210. PREOUT L R Connecting a Preamp You can use the A-SV210 as a power amplifier by connecting the A-SV210 to a preamplifier. When you use the A-SV210 as a power amplifier, connect the pre out terminals on the preamplifier to the MAIN IN terminals on the A-SV210. You can enjoy surround sound playback by connecting front left and right speakers to the A-SV210 and connecting center and surround speakers to the preamplifier. If you have a powered subwoofer, connect it to the preamplifier's PRE OUT. MAIN IN LINE IN L L R R Note: The signal from the PREOUT terminal will be output whether the DIRECT function is enabled or not. PRE OUT L R Note: Before you use the A-SV210 as a power amplifier, be sure to turn on the DIRECT function by pressing the DIRECT button. (page 13) Connecting the Power Cord Notes: · Before connecting the power cord, connect all of your speakers and audio components. · Turning on the A-SV210 may cause a momentary power surge that might interfere with other electrical equipment on the same circuit. · Do not use a power cord other than the one supplied with the A-SV210. The supplied power cord is designed exclusively for use with the A-SV210 and should not be used with any other equipment. [. . . ] Note: If you select another input source during recording, the newly selected input source will be recorded. 3 13 Troubleshooting If you have any trouble using your A-SV210, look for a solution in the troubleshooting section. If you can't resolve the issue yourself, contact your Onkyo dealer. Power Can't turn on the A-SV210. · Make sure that the power cord is properly plugged into the wall outlet. (page 11) · Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, wait five seconds or more, then plug the cable in again. The power is turned off and the power indicator blinks in white. · The amp protection circuit has been activated. [. . . ]
