[. . . ] Reflection reducing structure An anti-reflective structure has been implemented around the diaphragm. Detailed analysis helped determine the optimal shape for elements surrounding the diaphragm, and reduced unnecessary reflective vibrations. This product uses natural materials. Unlike products made from processed or synthetic materials, each unit features different wood pattern. This wood pattern reveals annual wood growth rings, which feature natural organic ring patterns and dark and light colors. [. . . ] · Be sure to connect the speaker wires with the correct polarity. Connect the speaker's positive (+) binding post to your amplifier's positive (+) terminal, and the negative () binding post to its negative () terminal. If the polarity is incorrect, bass output will be greatly reduced and the sound will be unclear. In addition, be sure to connect the left and right speakers to the corresponding left and right terminals on your amplifier. · Make sure that the positive (+) and negative () speaker wires are not touching each other. · As you make each connection, lightly tug each speaker wire to make sure that it's connected securely. Amplifier, etc. Insert the speaker wires into the speaker terminals as shown, and tighten the speaker terminals. Right speaker Left speaker 1 2 · The speaker terminals can be used with commercially available speaker cables fitted with banana plugs. Before inserting a plug, tighten the speaker terminals first. Banana-plug 5 Fitting the Cork Spacers To get the best sound from the speakers, we recommend that you fit the supplied cork spacers. This will also improve their stability and prevent them from slipping. Bottom of the D-TK10 Cork spacers Speaker Placement The quality of the sound produced by the speakers is directly affected by the size and shape of the room in which they're used and its furnishings. When deciding where to place the speakers, read the following: · If possible, mount the speakers on speaker stands, concrete blocks, bricks, or a sturdy bookshelf. Putting them directly on the floor will emphasize bass sounds, resulting in a boomy sound. · If a speaker is placed on an uneven surface, it may wobble or vibrate and adversely affect bass performance. You can eliminate speaker wobble by putting a cork spacer or metal, such as a coin, underneath the speaker or stand, as shown. · If you place the speakers on a flat surface, such as a bookshelf, you can improve the sound quality by inserting cork spacers or metal, such as a coin, underneath each speaker. Raising the speaker off the flat surface a little will reduce the contact area and improve the sound quality. Cork spacer or coin Attaching the Included Protective Cover If you plan not to use the speaker for a long period of time, attach the included protective cover to protect the speaker from dust, scratches, or sun damage. To attach the cover, first make sure the front and rear of the cover are properly oriented. To remove the cover, slowly raise the cover so that it will not be caught by the speaker surface. Rear Front Protective cover · If you like lots of bass, mount the speakers on low speaker stands and place them in front of a solid wall. For good stereo imaging, put the left and right speakers in similar locations at the same distance away from your listening position and at the same height. [. . . ] Microphone feedback. Using Close to a TV or Computer TVs and computer monitors are magnetically sensitive devices and as such are likely to suffer from discoloration or picture distortion when conventional speakers are placed nearby. To prevent this, the DTK10 speakers feature internal magnetic shielding. In this case, turn off your TV or monitor, wait 15 to 30 minutes, and then turn it back on again. This normally activates the degaussing function, which neutralizes the magnetic field, thereby removing any discoloration effects. [. . . ]
