[. . . ] MIX L R IR IN OUT Controlling the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E When It's Out of Range (not Canadian model) If the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is located in another room, installed in a cabinet, or is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR receiver to pick up the remote controller signals and feed them to the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E, as shown below. Connecting to other manufacturer's components may cause them to malfunction. DV-SP1000 DV-SP1000E Remote controller Inside cabinet Signal flow 40 Connecting--Continued Connect the IR receiver to the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E as shown below. from connecting block Only remote controller signals received by the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E's IR IN are fed through to the IR OUT. Signals picked up by the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E's remote control sensor are not. Miniplug cable Signal flow IR IN Connecting the Power Cord Notes: · Before connecting the power cord, complete all of the necessary audio and video connections. · Do not use a power cord other than the one supplied with the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E, which is designed exclusively for use with the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E and should not be used with any other component. · Never disconnect the power cord from the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E while the other end is still plugged into a wall outlet. · The DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E (not the Canadian model) is shipped with the POWER switch in the ON position ( ). When the power cord is connected for the very first time, the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E will go on standby and the STANDBY indicator will light up. · To completely shutdown the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E, set the POWER switch to the OFF position ( ). (This does not apply to the Canadian model). OUT DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E Controlling Other Out-of-range Components For another component that is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR emitter to retransmit the remote controller signals received at the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E's IR IN, as shown below. DPC-7. 4 AC INLET Signal flow Connect the IR emitter to the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E's IR OUT, and place the IR emitter in front of the other AV component's remote control sensor (usually located on its front panel), as shown below. See the instructions supplied with the IR emitter. (Ignore this step if you have the Canadian model. ) 2 STANDBY/ON Press the [STANDBY/ON] button. The very first time you turn on the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E, the Initial Setup menu appears onscreen (see page 43). Press the [STANDBY/ON] button again to enter Standby. This is the mode for controlling the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E. 2 ON Press the [ON] button. To set the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E to Standby, press the [STANDBY] button. 42 Initial Setup This chapter explains the settings you need to make the very first time the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is turned on. The On-Screen Language menu appears next. LAST MEMORY REC LM AUDIO STEP/SLOW RANDOM RD SUBTITLE ANGLE RESOLUTION First Time Setup The very first time you turn on the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E, the Initial Setup menu appears onscreen. 3 Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select Off or On for the i. LINK Output Setting (i. LINK), and then press [ENTER]. [. . . ] If the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is properly connected to an i. LINK component and an SACD is loaded, the IEEE 1394 indicator will flash. While the i. LINK Output Setting is set to On, the Analog Audio Out Speaker Setting, Speaker Distance, and Test Tone settings have no effect and are unavailable. MP3 files without a ". mp3" or ". MP3" filename extension are not recognized. JPEG files without a ". jpg" or ". JPG" or ". JPEG" filename extension are not recognized. [. . . ]
