For example, when (L) is 16 feet (5 meters) and (L2) is 6 feet (2 meters), (L) ­ (L2) = 16 ­ 6 = 10 feet / 5 ­ 2 = 3 meters Since the value of 10 feet (3 meters) is found in the 11th line in the table below, the surround delay time to be set is 10. Press SPEAKER ADJUST repeatedly until "Surr Delay" is displayed. Press PRESET/ADJUST TM/£ repeatedly to select the surround delay value. It can be selected from 0 to 15 ms. 19 Speaker setup SUBWOOFER MODE TEST CH SEL LEVEL 5/ Setting the subwoofer mode Press SUBWOOFER MODE on the unit. With the first press of the button, you can check the present setting. Then each press of the button changes the subwoofer mode as follows (a tip on how to select the right subwoofer mode is in parentheses): Adjusting each speaker's relative volume balance -- Test tone Adjust each speaker's relative volume balance so that the volumes of all speakers' test tones sound equal at the listening position. Note You cannot adjust the volume balance while the muting function is activated. Subwoofer Mode 1 (To output the low frequencies of all channels from the subwoofer. ) 1. Press TEST on the remote controller. Each speaker emits the test tone (pink noise) and the display shows the speaker emitting the test tone. Subwoofer Mode 2 (To output the low frequencies of the center and surround channels from the subwoofer. ) 2. Press CH SEL repeatedly to select the speaker, then press LEVEL 5/ on the remote controller to adjust the volume level. When CH SEL is pressed repeatedly, each speaker produces the test tone (pink noise) in the following order: Left Center Right Surr Right Surr Left Subwoofer. The volume level can be adjusted between ­12dB and +12dB. When you have completed the adjustment by repeating step 2, press TEST. The test tone stops and the normal display resumes. Press input selector button to select one of the following input sources: · · · · · · DVD VIDEO 1 VIDEO 2 VIDEO 3 TAPE CD Volume level About digital sound If the equipment is digitally connected to the AV Receiver, the sound from the digital input will automatically be selected and reproduced instead of the analog sound as explained below. The initial settings are as follows: · When the DVD source is selected, the digital sound from the DIGITAL INPUT COAXIAL connector is reproduced. · When the CD source is selected, the digital sound from the DIGITAL INPUT OPTICAL 2 connector is reproduced. · When the TAPE source is selected, the digital sound from the DIGITAL INPUT OPTICAL 1 connector is reproduced. When the digital sound is reproduced, the YDIGITAL, DTS, or PCM (2 channel digital stereo) indicator lights up according to the received sound system in the AV Receiver's display. YDIGITAL PCM DTS e. g. [. . . ] No picture appears on the TV screen. · The placement of the audio connection cables on the rear panel is incorrect. · The TV is not set to receive the output signals from the AV receiver. · Only the S video connection is made.
