Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select "HDMI DVD, " "HDMI VCR, " or "HDMI CBL" and use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ] buttons to change the setting. If you connect a video component to HDMI IN 1 or 2, you must assign that input to an input selector. For example, if you connect your DVD player to HDMI IN 1, you must assign HDMI DVD setting to IN1. No: Select if you're not using the HDMI OUT.

Digital Audio Input Setup Changing the Input Display
If you connect an -capable Onkyo MiniDisc recorder, CD recorder, or RI Dock to the TAPE IN/OUT or CBL/SAT IN jacks, for to work properly, you must change this setting. This setting can only be changed on the AV receiver.

Start playback on the source component. To watch a DVD or other video source, on your TV, select the video input that's connected to the AV receiver's MONITOR OUT jack. To adjust the volume, use the MASTER VOLUME control, or the remote controller's [VOL] button. Since the AV receiver is designed for home theater enjoyment, it has a wide volume range for precise adjustment. Because our ears are less sensitive to very low bass sounds, there's a temptation to set the level of the subwoofer too high. As a rule of thumb, set the subwoofer level to what you think is the optimal level, and then back it off slightly.
