The A and B speaker indicators show whether each speaker set is on or off. Note: When you turn on speaker set B, the listening mode for speaker set A is set to Stereo automatically. When you select DVD or another video component, on your TV you'll need to select the video input to which the TX-906 is connected. On some DVD players, you may need to turn the digital audio output on. To adjust the volume, use the MASTER VOLUME control, or the remote controller's [VOL] button. AMP TUNER DIMMER Press the REMOTE MODE [AMP] button, and then press the [DIMMER] button repeatedly to select: dim, dimmer, dimmer+front panel indicators off, or normal brightness. 32 Basic Operation--Continued Using the Sleep Timer With the sleep timer you can set the TX-906 to automatically turn off after a specified period. AMP Using Headphones You can connect a pair of stereo headphones (1/4-inch phone plug) to the TX-906's PHONES jack for private listening, as shown. TUNER SLEEP Press the REMOTE MODE [AMP] button, and then press the [SLEEP] button repeatedly to select the required sleep time. The SLEEP indicator appears on the display when the sleep timer has been set, as shown. "Erase" flashes on the display. 3 P MEM While it's flashing, press the [P MEM] button again. The selected preset is deleted and its number disappears from the display. 36 Using the Listening Modes With its comprehensive collection of surround and DSP listening modes, the TX-906 can transform your home listening room in to a movie theater or concert hall. To get the most from surround sound, it's important that you install and configure your speakers correctly. See "Connecting Speakers" on page 15 and "Speaker Configuration" on page 46. However, the [SURR] button can be used to turn the tone on or off. [STEREO] button This button selects the Stereo listening mode. 2 3 Start playback on the selected AV component. Press the [LISTENING MODE] button repeatedly to select the listening modes.
