This warranty offers free repairs of defects or failures in the product, provided that the product is used in accordance with the instructions given in the user's manual and all cautions, warnings, and indications. To receive repairs under this warranty, please contact Polaroid (see page 27 for details) 2. In the event of transfer of ownership of the product (including receipt as a gift), the store at which the product was purchased may not be able to honor this warranty; in this case, contact Polaroid (details on page 27). [. . . ] Note: The top cover cannot be opened unless the front cover is open. Pull forward on the catch as shown in the diagram. Unit Front LCD Monitor Print Quantity Buttons Print Button Mode Button Power Button (Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn power off) Select Buttons Paper Slit Side Cover After opening the upper cover, press the side cover lock button and slowly open the side cover. Remove the ink ribbon stopper Remove the ink ribbon stopper, and turn the ink ribbon axle (the ribbon core on the ink supply side) slightly in the direction of the arrow to take up any ink ribbon slack. Note: (Refer to diagram at left) When taking up ink ribbon slack, do not turn the ink ribbon core on the take-up side. Check the orientation of the ink ribbon cassette, insert it into the ink ribbon cassette slot, and close the upper cover. Note: When completely inserted, the ink ribbon cassette will click into place, and the lock lever will lock the ink ribbon cassette. To remove the ink ribbon cassette, slide the lock lever out of the locking position before removing the ink ribbon cassette. After ink ribbon initialization is completed, printing will be possible. Unit Rear Paper Slit Paper Guide Ventilation Slits Paper Cassette Lock lever DC Port USB Port Side Cover Lock Button Print Setup Parts Names Print Setup g Insert the paper Side cover lock button While pressing the side cover lock button, open the printer side cover. The side cover can only be opened when the front cover and top cover are open. When opening the side cover, guide the cover with your hand and open the cover slowly. Do not touch any of the interior parts of the printer. Click Close the paper cover until a click is heard. Click Note: Printing is not possible with the front cover closed. Tab Perforation margin (small) Insert the paper with the printing side up, and the large perforation margin at the front. Printing with the paper incorrectly aligned may result in paper jamming. Fingerprints or other contaminants on the paper surface may result in printing problems. Note: Perforation margin (large) Print Setup While pressing down on the tabs on the right and left of the paper cassette cover, lift upwards. Click Close the side cover until a click is heard, and then close the top cover. Memory Stick ProTM If the LCD monitor displays "Insert a memory card or connect a USB device", insert a memory card (refer to page 14 for details), or connect a USB device. n SD Memory Card n Multimedia Card n Memory StickTM Duo n miniSD Card * Use appropriate adapters * Check card orientations when inserting. Set up the paper guide. (Refer to page 14 for details) LCD monitor (initial screen) Printing Memory Card Set up printer options while checking the LCD monitor. (Refer to pages 15-19 for details) USB gSet up the paper guide Match the shapes of the four indentations when placing the paper guide. Press the Print button. The paper will pass in and out of the unit during printing. Please do not touch the paper until printing has been completed and the print has been ejected. Print Button Mode Button Power Button Follow the instructions on the computer screen to transfer image data to the printer. Notes: Always use the paper guide when printing multiple prints. Do not allow more than 10 sheets to collect in the paper guide. Printing Notes: Insert memory cards completely. Do not insert cellular phone Memory StickTM Duo or miniSD Cards directly. Do not close the front cover when a memory card is inserted in the slot. LCD Monitor Displays different information about the printer. Press to advance to the next image, or to return to the previous image. Image Total number of prints Current mode When switching images, this image will appear. gPrint modes Single Print Batch Print All Images DPOF Index Print Button Select Button Quantity Button Usable button display Quantity Buttons Used to select the number of prints. Pressing the + button will increase the number of prints by one, pressing the - button will decrease the number of prints by one. These buttons are also used to select the number of images in a split print (2, 4, 9, 16, or 25) and ID prints (2, 4, 6, 8, mixed). [. . . ] Paper cannot be removed while printing. Symptoms and Solutions Before sending a unit to be repaired, please check the following list of printer problems and their possible causes. See page 27 for details. Symptom The printer cannot be turned on Cause / Solution Cause: The AC adapter is not properly connected. (Please refer to page 13, "Printing " for details) Turn the power off (press the Power button for 2 seconds or more), and turn the power back on. Power Button * There are unprintable images * Images cannot be confirmed Cause: The image is not supported by the printer.
