CD-RW The RP-955 can also play back the following discs produced in CD or DVD recorders: CD-R/ CD-RW Audio CD VCD/SVCD MP3/WMA/WAV JPEG DVD Video DVD Audio DVD VR ASF MPEG1/MPEG2 DivX Check the copyright laws before recording from DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs and CDs. With some discs the RP-955 may not be able to perform certain operations. For example, some discs may not allow rapid advance/reverse or slow motion playback. When you press a remote control or front panel button if the RP-955 cannot perform the operation the Invalid Operation icon appears on your TV screen. When you connect the RP-955 directly to a VCR, the copy guard system can prevent proper playback of the disc. With some DVD VIDEO discs, the RP-955 starts playback automatically after inserting the disc. â· The image may be sometimes poor or noisy due to defects in the disc itself. â· With some discs, operations described in this manual may not be possible. If a disc gets dirty, dusty, scratched or warped, playback, sound and picture will be adversely affected. About Output Signals The video output and resolution choices are shown in the graphic below. When "AUTO" is selected the output will be the maximum resolution the television that is connected can reproduce. nTSC ("NT") is the correct choice for TVs in North America. Each time you press DIMMER, the brightness of the display changes in the order shown. The sample menu screen shown below is what appears when an MP3 disc is loaded. With a JPEG disc "File" is shown on the right side instead of "Track". Otherwise, the disc may be damaged when the disc tray is closed, or you may not be able to remove the disc from the RP-955. After loading a DVD VIDEO, SVCD or Video CD disc, a menu may appear on the TV screen. When a disc with JPEG images is loaded, pressing / (PLAY) will start a "slide show" of the images. At times you may see the following icons on the screen: Play Pause Fast reverse/fast forward search Slow motion playback (reverse/forward directions) Containing multi-view angles (See "Selecting Viewing Angles") Containing multi-audio languages (See "Selecting the Audio Language") Containing multi-subtitle languages (See "Selecting the Subtitle Language") The disc cannot accept the operation you have attempted. When a DVD Audio disc is playing press the Display button 2 to show the Group Number and Track Number. [. . . ] â· If there is any type of files other than MP3/ WMA/JPEG/ASF/MPEG1/MPEG2 files in a folder, those files are also counted in the total file number. This system can play back a baseline JPEG file, excluding monochromatic JPEG files. â· This system can play back JPEG data taken with a digital camera conforming to the DCF (Design Rule for Camera File System) standard (when a function such as the automatic image rotation function of a digital camera is applied, the data no longer complies with the DCF standard, so the image may not be displayed). â· If data has been processed, edited and restored with computer image editing software, the data may not be displayed.
