[. . . ] Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e. There is also the possibility that the thermal safety cut-out will switch off the heating element. Oil/fat that has been used many times before may ignite when overheated. If this occurs, remove the plug from the wall socket and place the lid on the appliance in order to smother the flames. [. . . ] The minimum and maximum level marks can be found on the side of the frying container. Before filling the container with the required quantity of oil, the frying basket should be removed. €“ Types of oil/fat to be used: Only pure vegetable oil/solidified fat should be used in this deep fryer. The recess below the heating element acts as a cooling area where residual particles resulting from the frying process, as well as other impurities, are collected. The circulation of the oil/fat results in a lower temperature level around the recess area. Removable heating element Before the appliance is connected to the mains, the power cord must be pulled out to its full length from the storage compartment. The appliance can be operated only if the element has been installed correctly; otherwise, the safety switch will not allow the unit to be operated. Do not operate the appliance unless both the heating element and the frying container (filled with oil or fat) have been properly installed. Switching the deep fryer On/Off (Timer) The timer serves to switch on the appliance. By turning the timer clockwise, the intended running-time of the appliance can be set. If the timer is turned anti-clockwise to position ‘ , the appliance is permanently switched on. Before inserting the plug into a wall socket and using the timer to turn the appliance on, ensure that – the frying container and the heating element have been fitted as instructed and – the frying container has been filled with oil/fat to a safe level. After frying is completed, turn the temperature control knob back to its lowest position, set the timer to ‘ ’ and remove the plug from the wall socket. Temperature control Use the temperature control knob to set the temperature to the desired level. Indicator lights The red main indicator light remains lit as long as the appliance is switched on. The green light comes on once the pre-set temperature level has been reached; it will be out while the appliance is heating up Frying basket The basket is designed to hold the food to be fried. To attach the handle, press its two sides together and insert the angled pieces into the corresponding openings on the basket. Pull the handle towards the rim of the basket and use the two protruding support brackets to secure it. €“ Use the basket handle to hang the frying basket onto its holding bracket inside the frying container. €“ Slightly lift up the basket to clear the holding bracket, and then lower it carefully into the hot oil/fat. Removing the frying basket / drain position: – Take off the lid. €“ Use the basket handle to lift up the basket and place it onto the holding bracket; this position allows the oil/fat to drain back into the container. [. . . ] To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water. The inside of the lid may be cleaned with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. To prevent any remaining water from mixing with the oil/fat, ensure that all parts are thoroughly dried. €“ To remove the oil from the frying container, wait until the oil/fat has cooled down sufficiently but is still liquid; carefully take out the heating element and remove the oil/fat with a soup ladle.
