Water container Important safety instructions  Before the appliance is used, the main unit as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. ρ¬ This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved. Thermal safety cut-out The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without any water, or if the heating element is calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down sufficiently, or must be descaled before it is switched on again. Temperature control The temperature control is used to select the desired water level. To bring water to boiling point, the temperature control should be set at its maximum. B: The setting increases as the control is turned clockwise, and decreases as the control is turned anti-clockwise. €“ Use the lid-opener lever to open the lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the Min. €“ Before closing the lid and placing the container back on its base, ensure that the appliance has not yet been switched on. €“ Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket, turn the temperature control to the desired setting and press the On/Off switch.
