POSSIBLE CAUSE Did a power failure occur? REMEDY Try setting it again. When a radio or TV which uses an indoor aerial is placed near the unit, the picture on the TV screen may be distorted or the radio may not function properly. A recording cannot be made. Is the tape protected against accidental erasure? Sound is skipped. The tape is damaged. Sound in high-frequency range cannot be reproduced. Sound quivers. The capstan and pinch roller are very dirty. The cassette cannot be ejected. Did a power failure occur? DISC FULL Replace the disc with another recordable disc. but- Radio reception SYMPTOM REMEDY FOCUS ERROR MD ERROR MECHA ERR (:N umber or symbol) NAME FULL NO DISC When the unit receives a radio broadcast near a TV set, a computer or a wordprocessor, it may pick up noise. If this happens, try to move the unit from the place where the noise is picked up. Redo programming. POSSIBLE CAUSE EDIT OVER Radios make unusual noise consecutively. The unit is placed near the TV or computer. The aerial direction is not placed properly. ­9­ REMEDY Insert properly. The preset channel cannot be recalled. Did you erase the programmed station? Remote control SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE The remote control does not function or does not operate properly. NOT AUDIO PLAYBACK MD PROTECT The batteries (polarity) are not inserted properly.
