Turn the hotplate control until the indicator light next to the desired frying setting lights up. The indicator lights next to the temperature symbol and above the control panel for the dual circuit hotplate light up. A signal sounds when the frying temperature is reached. Add the fat and then the food to the pan. Turn as normal to prevent burning. When the meal is ready Note Switch off the hotplate control and remove the pan from the hotplate. The pan does not overheat. 20 Table The table shows the appropriate frying settings for different types of food. The frying time may vary depending on the type of food, its weight, thickness and quality. The manufacturer's instructions on frying at high, medium and low heat do not correspond to the frying settings in the sensor frying system. Meals with butter flavour If your food should taste of butter, add some butter to the oil at the end of the frying process. Childproof lock and pause function Childproof lock Locking the hobs You can lock the hob to prevent children from switching on the hotplates. Touch the S symbol until the indicator light next to the symbol lights up. The following happens if you adjust a hotplate on a locked hob: A 0 flashes in the hotplate indicator, or the residual heat indicator and a 0 flash alternately. The residual heat will still be displayed even if you have locked the hob. Unlocking Warning Locked hob Note 23 Reducing the switch on time You can reduce the switch on time of the child proof lock from 4 to 1 seconds: The hotplates must be switched off. 1. Select a heat setting on any hotplate and press the hotplate control. 4. Proceed in the same manner as for reducing. The child proof lock/pause function could be activated or deactivated unintentionally when the appliance is cleaned using water or as a result of spillages or objects covering the S symbol. 24 Timer function The timer is an electronic clock.
