Your washing machine is distinguished by its economical consumption of energy, water and detergent. Each washing machine which leaves our factory is checked carefully to ensure that it functions properly and is in perfect con dition. If you have any questions - espe cially with respect to installing and con necting your washing machine - please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department. [. . . ] - The washing machine door remains locked when the wash cycle is com plete. - When the appliance has been swit ched on and the washing machine door closed, all operating elements are disabled and the washing machine door is locked. Activate the childproof lock / appliance lock q Press the Extras" button. q Activate the childproof lock / appliance lock by pressing the Childproof lock +" button. i When the childproof lock / appliance lock has been activated, the $" symbol is indicated on the display panel after the programme has started. 31 Temporarily deactivate childproof lock / appliance lock q Press and hold down the start/stop" button (4 seconds) until the start/stop" illuminated ring flashes. i When Pause" is displayed, the childproof lock / appliance lock is temporarily deactivated. i Childproof lock / appliance lock is re activated by pressing the start/stop" button again. Permanently deactivate childproof lock / appliance lock (no programme active) q Press the start/stop" button for approx. i If the childproof lock / appliance lock is permanently deactivated, the $" symbol on the display panel goes out. Permanently deactivate childproof lock / appliance lock (programme active) q Press and hold down the start/stop" button (4 seconds) until the start/stop" illuminated ring flashes. q Press the Extras" button or the button with the Extras" symbol(s). The childproof lock / appliance lock is permanently deactivated. 32 Resetting standard settings You can reset standard settings which have been changed (exception: time). i Settings cannot be reset while a programme is running. Option 1 Changes to the childproof lock and signal are cleared, the childproof lock is deactivated and the memory locations are deleted. 4 seconds simultaneously press the upper and lower buttons on the right side of the display panel. New status: Memory1, 2, 3: Childproof lock: Signal: Empty OFF 4 Return to the programme page. Option 2 Changes to the childproof lock and si gnal are cleared, the childproof lock is deactivated and the memory locations are deleted. 4 seconds simultaneously press the upper and lower buttons on the left side of the display panel. New status: Memory1, 2, 3: Childproof lock: Signal: Empty OFF 4 Return to the language selection. 33 Changing the programme sequence Changing selected settings While the selected programme is running, the spin speed can be changed and addi tional options (exception: Prewash") can be switched on or off. q Press the Change" button. q Press the Spin speed" button until the desired spin speed is displayed. or q Press the Extras" button and switch additional options on or off. 34 If Childproof lock: ON" preselected q Press the start/stop" button for approx. When the required changes have been made: q Press the start/stop" button. i When the programme restarts, the childproof lock / appliance lock is re activated. If Childproof lock: ON" preselected q Press the start/stop" button for ap prox. i When the programme restarts, the childproof lock is reactivated. Cancelling the programme A programme which has been selected and started can be ended prematurely. If Childproof lock: ON" preselected q Press the start/stop" button for ap prox. q Deactivate the childproof lock/ appliance lock permanently, see Page 32. q Cancel the programme as described. Topping up or removing washing Additional laundry can be placed in the drum during the wash cycle or taken out of the drum before the end of the wash cycle.
